Michelle Obama partners with Big Food company

michelle-obama-with-potatoMichelle Obama’s effort to slim down America’s youth has struck a “potentially transformative” deal with a major agriculture company.

DailyLeak.org reports the first lady is teaming up with Monsanto to promote “‘healthy’ genetically modified food to children.” The company has agreed to spend $50 million on the effort over five years.

“When I see a company like Monsanto launch an initiative like this, I feel more hopeful than ever before,” Obama at a recent event to announce the deal. “We can improve how we make and sell food in this country.”

“It’s a natural extension of what we do,” Monsanto official Michael Stern, told the Associated Press.

Maybe so, but it’s not clear how a company that’s primarily known for producing seeds and herbicides for farmers is going to nudge children into eating foods the first lady thinks they should be eating.

  1. Hmmmm, just when many are making every effort to keep Monsanto at bay and require labeling of GMO’S on the food we buy, Monsanto climbs into the pocket of the Potus’ house. There are countries out there that no longer even allow his chemicals, crops and practices within their borders, yet here we are, kissing his A. This just evidences further effort to turn control of our country, through it’s food supply, over to the elite. Not to mention, brainwashing our kids into thinking this is all OK. This is an effort to overturn new rulings on GMO labeling in some states and stifle future efforts by requiring schools in the future to sign on to this new program in exchange for grants—the same way it worked for Common Core.

  2. Dailyleak.org is a satirical website. The story is satire. I’m afraid that you have fallen for the “I read it on the internet so it must be true” syndrome.
